Ram Nadi Restoration Mission

Ram Nadi is a 19.20 km river in Maharashtra that has met the same fate as many of the other rivers in the country. It has dried up and fragmented due to pollution and illegal construction. With a definite agenda to restore the Ram Nadi to its ever-flowing glory, Kirloskar Vasundhara and 12 esteemed organisations have come together and created the Ram Nadi Restoration Mission.

Plastic Waste Collection & Recycling

Plastic Waste Collection & Recycling

Plastic waste collection and recycling Each year, an estimated 19 to 23 million tonnes of plastic waste leak into aquatic ecosystems, polluting lakes, rivers, and oceans. Every single day, the equivalent of 2,000 garbage trucks full of plastic waste is dumped into our water bodies. While this disrupts natural habitats and processes, it also weakens the ecosystems' ability to adapt to climate change, directly impacting the livelihoods, food security and well-being of millions.

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is tackling this crisis through global initiatives and partnerships aimed at reducing plastic pollution. In alignment with UNEP’s mission, Kirloskar Vasundhara has launched the campaign ‘No to Plastic, Yes to Earth’, driving both awareness and action.

As part of this campaign, a ‘Plastic Waste Collection Drive’ has been piloted in five schools in the Hadapsar area. The initiative engages students in collecting plastic waste from their homes, aiming to raise awareness, inspire behavioural change, and promote recycling and upcycling of collected materials.
